If a user would like to stream audio and video wirelessly from their laptop in a classroom in Hedrick Administrative Bldg...
First, ensure that the Mersive Solstice app is installed on your device.
Click on the link below. This will take you to the official Mersive Solstice download page.
https://www.mersive.com/download/
Once you click on the link, there will be a image close to the top of the page like the one below.
Click on Download now >> in the box. A pop-up will appear. Select your device's operating system (Windows or MacOS) from the dropdown box, and then click Download.
Wait a few seconds for the download to complete.
On your laptop, navigate to your Downloads folder. Ensure that you are sorting your files by Date Modified Descending. This will put the file you just downloaded at the top. (The file name will be similar to SolsticeClient-6.2.msi).
Double click on this file, or right click on it and click Open.
The install wizard will launch. Follow the prompts and install the Mersive Solstice App in a location that you can easily access.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed the Mersive Solstice App.
Connecting to the projectors in Hedrick Administrative Bldg
First, power on the projector using the touch panel on the credenza in the room.
Next, click on the Wireless button on the touchpad. The projector is in wireless mode when the button is white. A picture will appear on the whiteboard with some other information about the wireless environment.
Now on your laptop, open up the Mersive Solstice App. (Note: it may take up to 30 seconds for the app to launch)
Type in your name and click Next.
You may encounter the screen below. It is safe to click Skip and Finish.
On the next screen, you will see a list of rooms that are available to connect to, shown below.
To connect to the room you are in, look at the whiteboard and locate the name of the room. This is usually in the upper left corner of the projection.
Once you find the name of the room, go back into the Mersive Solstice App. Look for or search for the identical room name that you are in.
Once you click on the room name, a screen like the one below will pop up.
This code will be enlarged on the whiteboard as soon as you click on the room in the App. Enter in this code and click Connect.
From here, you can decide what you want shared to the projector. Desktop will mirror your entire screen. App Window will only share a single app window (you will be given the choice as to which window you want to share).
Congratulations! You are now sharing video wirelessly to the projector.
Sharing audio
If you are playing a video for your class, you may notice that you are not hearing any audio. We recommend using the Wired option on the touchscreen. This connection is more stable, and has less delay than a wireless connection.
If you would like to continue using the wireless option anyway, you will need to unmute your laptop audio in the Mersive Solstice App.
At the top of your laptop screen, you will see 2 buttons, a blue "Sharing Desktop" and a red "Stop Sharing".
To unmute your audio, click on the blue button. A dropdown window will appear.
At the top of this window, next to the room name and above your name, there is a small speaker button. The speaker will have a red line over it by default, indicating it is muted. Click on this button to unmute the audio.
To close this window and continue sharing, click on the blue button at the top of the screen again.
If you are still not hearing audio, check that the volume slider on the touchpad on the credenza is not muted or turned down.
Congratulations! You are sharing both audio and video wirelessly.
If you have any troubles while in your class, you can click on the black Support button at the top of the screen on the touchpad. Indicate that you are having an AV issue and one of our specialists will be on the way.
