How to clear browser cache

There are several errors that can occur when navigating different Catawba systems, especially login pages, that may require a user to clear their browser cache in order to progress. Below are instructions on how to clear cache for different browsers.

 

Disclaimer: Clearing your cache will not erase your saved passwords for most browsers when done properly. Some advanced settings do have the ability to delete saved passwords. Be attentive to what you are selecting when clearing your browser data as to not lose any important data

 

 

Google:

 

When opening up Google Chrome:

1.) Navigate to the top right of the window and click on the 3 dots next to your user profile picture. In the drop down window, Click on "Delete browsing data"

 

2.) Under the "Basic" tab, select the bottom 2 check boxes (shown below). Also, be sure that the "Time Range" drop down is set to "All time"

3.) Click the "Delete data" button.

4.) Close Chrome

 

You can now reopen Chrome and continue where you left off.

 

 

Safari

 

When opening up Safari:

 

1.) Click on the Safari menu in the top left hand corner next to the Apple symbol

2.) Click on  Settings...

3.) A new dialogue box will open

4.) Click Privacy

5.) Click on the Manage Website Data button

6.) To remove any cached data and cookies from your computer, click Remove all

7.) A new dialogue box will open

8.) Click Remove Now

9.) Wait a few moments, then click Done. Close the dialogue box remaining. Press Command +Q to quit Safari

 

You can now reopen Safari and continue where you left off.

 


Microsoft Edge:

When opening Microsoft Edge:

 

1.) Click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the window

2.) In the drop down window, click on "Settings". A new page will open

3.) On the left hand side of the screen, click on "Cookies and site permissions"

4.) Click on "Manage and delete cookies and site data"

5.) Click on "See all cookies and site data"

6.) Click on "Remove all" below the search bar in the upper right hand side of the window. In the pop-up, click "Clear"

7.) Close out of Edge

 

You can now reopen Edge and continue where you left off.

 

 

Opera GX:

 

When opening Opera GX:

 

1.) Click on the 3 lines in the top right corner of the window (if you hover long enough it will say "Easy setup"). In the dropdown, scroll down to "Browsing data" and click the "Clear" button to the right.

 

2.) Under the "Basic" tab, select the bottom 2 check boxes (shown below). Also, be sure that the "Time Range" drop down is set to "All time" 

 

3.) Click "Delete data"

4.) Close Opera

 

You can now reopen Opera and continue where you left off
